Meet the Maker, Kayla
Kayla Burnett, the founder & maker behind Desert Willow Glass, began self-teaching herself tiffany style (copper foil method) stained glass in 2022. Kayla had always enjoyed hand crafting items in other mediums, but nothing clicked the same way stained glass did. Much of the work that goes into stained glass is a learned skill, similar to woodworking. It is complex & time intensive, yet simple. This has kept her hooked on learning and pushing herself artistically.
Drawing inspiration from her Texan upbringing & travels through the southwest, Desert Willow Glass designs primarily revolve around western themes (and occasionally wedding portraits - she’s a lover girl!).
Kayla is also extremely passionate about sharing her knowledge & introducing others to stained glass, for the sake of preserving the art form for future generations. What started as a therapeutic, creative outlet has grown into a passion & life purpose.
